If you live in the south you could look at RBI (Robert bearden) or Rosedale transport they both pull dry vans. I don’t much about them but I have them on a list of companies I’m going to look at once I do my time at my starter company

Worked for Dht for a bit and it isn’t a bad company, but it isn’t a great one either.

vs my current one their shops are great, the equipment is pretty good, but the pay does suck even if you get the mileage bonus. I made 46 with it over a year ago. As for trip length I would say like 1k unless it’s like Cali to Ohio. Let’s not forget you have to drive in California though a state beat not driven in for trucks.

Oh I see it now..........maybe I'm the one who needed a new phone. Lol. To the best of my knowledge, we do not run those two States. I certainly have never been dispatched there.

After spending weeks on end in California when I drove for Swift. A load into So Cal then another out does not bother me a bit. On another note, most of our Mexico loads are all pre loaded trailers that we pick up at the Terminals. Many deliveries are loaded trailers that we drop at the Terminals as well. Quick in and out. No long loading/unloading times.

Do they require their teams to have haz mat endorsements?

I do not believe it is a requirement. Extra .01 cpm just for having the endorsement. In 10 months with the company I have pulled exactly ONE Hazmat load. I ran over 100,000 miles last year in 9 months. So......in theory, that load paid me over $1000 extra. Lol

I stay out usually 2 months, sometimes more. I like the company I work for and my average CPM is currently .47 to .49 running mostly reefer.

My problem is that I do too many local runs that pay zero. It eats into my pay. I typically can only do 9,000 to 11,000 miles per month, 10,000 being average. CPM only, no breakdown, no detention, no local pay. I need better. I'm being taken advantage of.

So, for a guy that runs hard, is 12,000 a month doable, or does one need to sleep with the planner/dispatchers? Does DHT pay detention and breakdown? Does DHT pay for short runs, say anything under 100 or so?

12000 miles per month is easy for me. I am a stickler for trip planning and clock management. This is a screenshot from my Company page. I started back to work on January 3rd after 2 weeks off for Christmas. I'm not trying to impress you or anybody else. Just posting it so you don't think I'm blowing smoke up your ***.

Those are paid miles, not hub miles.

As to short haul pay.....we don't do short hauls. On a rare occasion you may need to pick up a load at one of our drop yards and get it to it's final destination. Usually it was dropped so a driver could get home on time. I did one in Dallas several months ago. Picked it up at the drop yard in Hutchins, ran it about 30 miles, got another load right after for 800-1000 miles or so. I think I got paid 25 or 30 dollars. Yes to layover pay, Yes to breakdown pay.
