Dart Transit - Super Singles, No Yard Move, No Personal Conveyance

Guess I don't understand the attitude about Dart. I can understand it if you're in the lease program, but as a company driver I have no complaints. Hired on about 5 months ago. The equipment the OP is complaining about buying is a combination of provided at no charge unless you don't turn it in when you leave and optional purchase. You can buy shoes, headsets, ice spikes and a few other things if you choose too. Some things, like a headset, are required equipment. Your choice of where you buy it.

Current conditions out of Lanncaster are favorable. In my limited driving experience I think I'm treated very well. My driver manager is polite and courteous and so is everyone else in the office. I can walk in and talk to whoever I need to during business hours.

Equipment is in good condition. If a trailer is repaired because of a minor problem, its also given a complete inspection before you get it back. My Freightliner has no reefer in it. That's OK. I put in an office sized fridge/ freezer. Much more room than factory installed reefer. Tractor has the radar on the front and lane detectors but that's it. No driver facing cameras.

Is it perfect? Nothing is. Is it nasty? Not even close. Would I recommend the company? NO, STAY AWAY. DON'T NEED ANY OF YOU SNOWFLAKES SCREWING THINGS UP FOR ME! Right now I can choose my lane. Too many new drivers will limit my choices. Idiots pissing off the dispatchers will make it hard for the next one that talks to them.

Got fired before he even hauled a load. If Dart fires you he must have been REAL SALTY with the vice president.

 

That still gets me. It is so hard to get fired from a trucking company, and this guy managed to get fired without ever hauling a load. That's what happens when you piss the wrong people off. I used this thread to talk to my son about having the right attitude. This was a really good lesson.

 

This guy looks like a one and done, Dart bad, message recieved. I'm going to move on.
