Mistake #1: You actually believed anything the recruiter said.
Mistake #2: You didn't actually research to find out if you would get the things the recruiter told you.
Mistake #3: After you had obviously complained loudly to the management about your grievances as a new hire, the VP personally contacted you to straighten things out, and you hung up on him because you "didn't have the time".
Sounds to me like you made a few mistakes.
