I was coming home from work. It was winter 2009-2010 in Iowa. The one that was record setting as there was 6 inches on the ground for like 100 days.

Anyway, I was driving my car home, and I hit a patch on US65 just north of US30, and as quick as that, my car spun right in the the snow. Fortunately a guy had a chain, and pulled me out. I wasn't going that fast, but it was really cold!

Kinda looks to me like he was going a bit quick and had his cruise on (which took away any opportunity to fix it once it got squirly)

    Oh yes.

I was on Route 27 waiting on a front end loadeed in my old ford.

Side walls covered the entire telegraph poles.

Road was pavement 12 feet wide. Strip of blue.

10 miles back more of the same. distance to the I70 for frederick? unknownhowever trucker Uniden told me pavement Mt Airy was three feet while newmarket still had two feet.

Since I had not reached union bridge yet I had 4 options. The biggest one was go home. This snow was too bigfor you,

    FerrissWheel and truckdriver31 Thank this.

This post is mistitled. That’s not black ice since it’s blatantly obvious the ice is there in the right lane. And it’s not an accident since that driver CHOSE to drive that fast in known icy conditions. I don’t wish ill on my fellow drivers but this guy deserves what he got.. hopefully he’s ok and he learned his lesson.
