All it will take is one accident with a huge settlement for the other party and then all the sudden driver-facing cameras won’t be a good idea anymore.

The pictures of what happens in a wreck must be pretty horrific or all these companies will be posting them on YouTube.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
The outward camera shows your response and what happened. There is nothing more needed beyond that. If you did the right thing it will be obvious if you did the wrong thing that will be obvious.
The inward camera is just food for a shady lawyer to Feast on.Bean Jr. and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
And I also mentioned that Swift started with both views, then disabled the driver facing camera.
Why did they do that?
Was it only because they were losing experienced drivers, or were there also other reasons?
They never explained exactly why, so I can not say.
The point is, we no longer have spycams. Only forward facing proper dash cams.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I"ll agree with you all on the face cameras. UN NEEDED.
But let's not forget that Arizona cop that was hit by a trucker with his cell phone flying out of his hand as he hit the cop. That was all caught on candid camera. (Face)tscottme Thanks this. -
