Dash cam video released from Ohio trooper’s violent rear-end crash into semi

That sudden crunch in the video startled the hell outta me. I hope he was OK, but he was driving a bit erratically before the crash.

 

There are far more good than bad out there.

 

problem is there’s no way to tell which one is which .
Well that And the good ones tolerate and cover for the bad ones .

 

Ok you are obviously skewed one way. When you need help maybe you get the good ones.

 

so are drivers but everyone at a traffic stop gets treated like a criminal or an ATM machine by a department desperate for “contacts “ and cash .

wonder how that happened ?

maybe you get the ones that withheld exculpatory evidence even after you filed a Brady Motion , and someone in the DA’s slipped you the interview form because they didn’t want to prosecute a case where he knew the cops were withholding exculpatory evidence .
And you used that photocopy to successfully sue the department and the detectives.

which makes it super easy to just assume they are all like that since the entire department was aware of it .

The chief had to resign but he got a better job with the state prison system . The DA actually wound up serving jail time for it and other stuff that got exposed during the investigation of withholding evidence . One of The crooked cops skated but the other crooked one was so stressed he had a stroke and spent years as a vegetable .

 

There’s plenty of stores about the bad ones because nobody cares about all the officers doing it right. And like I said there’s more good than bad. I’m done enjoy.

He was supported by his department even through the sentencing hearing. It took a whistle blower going outside the chain of command to even begin the investigation which resulted in more than 100 cases being thrown out.

How do I know the officer pulling me over is one of the 99% "good cops" and not a guy like Zachery Weaver?

You said yourself that when bad officers get fired, they tend to just move to another department that has less stringent/rigorous hiring practices. The bar to fire a cop is extremely high - so once fired why are they getting rehired? Why do we not revoke their certification?

I agree that there are more good cops than bad ones. However in recent years dash and body cam footage have shown police misconduct and worse other cops covering for that misconduct with alarming frequency. The volume of misconduct that is being exposed should be concerning to us all.

 

I have seen certifications pulled just not in this case.

more like 90/10 if you include the good ones who say nothing and tolerate and cover up for the bad apples .

Seems they were not smart enough to actually pass the state training and had another cop falsify the training records . Officer Billy Shane Harrison paid another cop to falsify the records .


and who discovered the falsified training records ?
Certainly not the district attorney or the sheriff or the Georgia bureau of investigation or the grand jury .
they were crooked and covering up for the crooked cop. The falsified records were discovered by the attorney hired by the widow of the man that was murdered.

 

You are exactly right , when you need help , you just have to pray that a decent cop
Shows up, which is really sad .

but there is really no point in calling them for help.
Odds are , They just show up and murder the person that called them

I grew up in this county .

Two deputies do a drive by shooting and the sheriff hides the gun for them.

thats three crooked cops , out of a department that only has 15 officers .
Would you consider that ratio “alot more good ones than bad ones “ ?

And they are just the ones that got caught .
