DashCam Review - Novatek GS 8000L

Do you need a full HD 1080p DashDam with a G-Sensor, Motion Sensor, exposure control and OK night vision for under $30 US? Doesn't everyone?

I want to start by saying off that the Novatek GS8000L is not a great camera. It combines decent daytime video with OK or average nighttime quality, + the usual features minus GPS.

The camera's most distinguishing feature is it's sub $30 price tag. Taken in that context it' offers pretty good value.

This GS8000L with a Novatek processor should not be confused with the GS8000 which features an Ambaralla processor and has a host of reliability issues. The GS8000L which I purchased in September of 2014 and used continuously until March 2015 performed flawlessly with no reliability problems whatsoever.

I used this DashCam to make this video here.

    Single Cam 1920x1080p
    140 deg field of vision
    2.7" LCD screen
    Zoom Function
    1/4 CMOS
    G-Sensor
    Motion Sensor
    Multiple Exposure Settings
Multiple White Balance Settings incl. Auto
Supports up to 32 Gig SD card
