Got a text at 2:45 am saying my trailer was loaded, only 15 hours late. Glad i didn't hang around. Now it's just a nice 1600 mike run to Cali.
Reason they were so late? They were still making the product, so they had nothing to ship. Serious problems at that place.

It was nice to finally have a full problem-free day. I got to say a quick hello to stevep1977 this morning before I left the Seville secure lot, it was nice to meet you man and thanks for the tip about that shipper being picky about swept out trailers. You saved me a hassle of having to leave the site and sweep it out and then come back again.
I picked up an almost brand new trailer out of Ohio and am headed to Maine. Got about 525 miles today and decided to shut down at the truck stop rather than spending the last driving hour making it to the next rest stop. I'm running on recap hours so I'll just have one extra hour to drive tomorrow anyway.
I honestly can't remember the last time I just had a full day of driving. Lots of 300-400 mile runs with live loads/unloads make you forget how nice it can be to just have a day of smooth sailing down the road. Except for the 4 wheelers. Lots of those idiots out today, coming to a complete stop right in front of me in the 20MPH roll-through EZPASS lane, or my personal favorite, driving 42 MPH in a 65MPH zone because of a light rain, with no lights on, and the wipers running at warp speed.
Daytime running lights are one of the stupidest things that I have ever seen. When I lived up in Vancouver, Canada (daytime running lights were required by law on all vehicles after a certain year), I cannot tell you how many times I would be driving home from work in the dark, only to come up on some idiot driving down the freeway in total darkness with nothing except his daytime running lights on. They give people a false sense of "oh my headlights are already on" and so they'll just be cruising down the road with no marker/tail lights. Especially since many vehicles have dash lights that illuminate automatically, not just when the tail lights are on, people have absolutely no clue they are nearly invisible going down the road. Unbelievably dangerous. I must have seen at least 10 cars running like this today in the rain. Thankfully it wasn't dark yet.Kutina, stevep1977, tmowry1 and 2 others Thank this. -

Nice to meet you too. It's actually hit or miss at P&G there depending on which guard inspects the trailer. Some are super picky, others just act like they inspected it for the cameras.
Just as an FYI, if you're driving south out of Maine on 95 there will be a #### ton of traffic in the afternoon. All the vacationers heading back home after the weekend.
And I got one of your favorite loads. 40000 lb load taking every PA back road up to buffalo ny. You should check out US 30 west of chambersburg pa. Fun times with a heavy ### load.
So I was put putting up the hill in 6th gear, watching my mirrors and all the pissed off 4 wheelers lining up behind me, and all of a sudden I thought I saw a huge orange spark fly out from my tandems. So I started watching my d/s mirror really closely but I saw nothing. Thought it might have just been a reflection in my mirror.
so when I reach the top of the hill they have one of those pull offs where you stop to check your breaks. So I just got out to check the tires to make sure I was just imagining things.
Trying to upload the pictures but having problems with phone. Anyway, a sharp piece of metal became separated from the body of the trailer sometime within the first 100 miles right above the tandems and the metal was just contacting the tire and was taking a huge gouge out of the tread wall. The rubber was all hot and sticky and obviously the rubber was the bright "spark" I saw. It was just molten rubber coming off of the tire. Lucky I caught it lol.
Basically just had to use a pry bar to bend the piece of metal back up and it's fine now. Just have to contact SEM so they do a more permanent job.Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
