Ahh the joys of e-logs. My biggest issue with them is the interface is such a jumbled bunch of crap. Log here. Show your load information here under a different tab. But wait go to WORKFLOW to log your DVIRs. Its so easy to accidentally skip a step when nothing is in the same place.

I've always been scared that something would happen in those first 5 minutes (accident, inspection, etc.) before it automatically logs you on and I wouldn't be logged under the correct duty status.

I try and do the same thing. Wake up at a truck stop, go on duty, pull to the fuel island, pretrip and fueling at the same time.

When I went through Schneider training I was taught 7 minutes minimum for a pretrip. I always did my pretrip before logging on. When I did finally log on I'd just play on the phone for 7 minutes then hit the road. Never heard a word about it.

Wow think I just set a record, at least my own record. Picked up a trailer today with FIVE bad tires lol. Last driver thinks there were "no defects"

edit, wingfoot is only willing to replace 2 tires. There is a third one I debated them about since its flat spotted but they won't replace it. The other two I'm being more picky about but technically there are major grooves on each that are running really low in a spot or two but they won't touch those.

Your lucky that tires will have to be showing cord before SNI thinks about replacing trailer tires. Flat spots don't matter as long as no cord your fine.

Easy fix to fighting with them about tires, I've used it.

    § 392.7Equipment, inspection and use.
    (a) No commercial motor vehicle shall be driven unless the driver is satisfied that the following parts and accessories are in good working order, nor shall any driver fail to use or make use of such parts and accessories when and as needed:
Service brakes, including trailer brake connections.
    Parking (hand) brake.
    Steering mechanism.
    Lighting devices and reflectors.
    Tires.
    Horn.
    Windshield wiper or wipers.
    Rear-vision mirror or mirrors.
    Coupling devices.
"I don't feel safe until they are replaced", use the DOT rules to your advantage

It's Monday, I'm full of hours and I'm ending my day with 173 miles for the week, and losing a day tto training on .wednesday. This is also a guy who doesn't cry to go home every ####### weekend. Where we gonna go work diesel?
