Well said diesel, i feel the same way on many of the points you made. Different strokes for different folks. I am counting the days until January.

Well I have a feeling more will be jumping on board to say DON'T DO IT, as well as some saying DO IT DO IT.
Honestly, here is what it comes down to:
While I appreciate everyone's advice, my stubborn ### is going to do what I want to do, which is giving Schneider's lease/purchase on Choice a try.
I am not going to make any assumptions saying I'm going to make "x" amount of money or be home "x" amount of days and get "x" amount of miles in my 700 horsepower 18 speed super sleeper Freightliner Cascadia. I am not going to pull numbers out of my ### and claim that one way is right and the other is wrong. No.
I will be making a new thread about my experiences with Choice, from the start, so follow along if you'd like. -
I am on the road and I do not drive. I am the load planner/bookkeeper and I understand every in and out I live it every day. I know both sides of your story. I am not taking it personal I don't think you really understand how free it is to take full responsibility for failure as well as success. It is the American Dream.Diesel997 Thanks this.

I don't understand all of the people that suggest you are probably going to fail. Even if you do fail it's not the end of the world. Go for it.
dieselfuelonly and Dark_Majesty_06 Thank this. -
If any if you go down to Laredo MSG me I found the absolute best taco place( and that's saying a lot because I am from Phoenix)

Oh I will be reading. If your experience goes well I might consider it myself. Of course if you dont like it you can always come over to Bulk.dieselfuelonly Thanks this.

Man they are gonna push me right up until the last minute. Just got a preassignment, 3 live load stops with a drop at the final 4th stop, loads scheduled with "at" appointments an hour apart, one in the middle, and I mean middle of downtown Chicago where I gotta back in off the street into an enclosed dock. This one's gonna be fun... Jesus Christ.

The best advice I can give when doing a LP or even buying a truck from a dealer is make sure you put money away for quarterly estimated tax payments. This is where so many owner operator and LP guys mess up. They're making all this extra money, and instead of putting money each paycheck for taxes come tax time they get hit with a 10k plus tax bill. Good luck
moosc Thanks this. -
By the way I recieved a load from Portsmouth VA up here to Long Island...and i ran the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and i had no problem...there was a lot of trucks on it
dieselfuelonly Thanks this. -
I have ran it mt and loaded. Had an assinment into that norfolk intermodal yard there in Norfolk. Problem I had was that secondary bridge contruction and poor detour signs. That and the 180 unpaid miles for a fuel stop in richmond.
