DFO, I can't thank you enough for the time, effort, and manner you presented your posts. And thanks to everyone else for your comments here. I know all of you have heard "Thank you" time and time again from the newbies, wannabes, triedtobes, and even a few halfbakedbes. In my instance, what I've read here has helped me make a life altering decision. I'm not a young man anymore (ok, so I'm not an OLD man yet either) and at this stage of life the decisions I make seem to have a bit more impact than they did when I was a young man (youngER man that is). I've been debating driving for a long time and believe me, I've had my share of windshield time.
As I was considering what would be the best route to take in a possible trucking career I researched various areas to see about pay, quality of life, how much of a pain in the ### this type of career would be, etc. I have looked into Schneider and thought it would be a reasonable company to consider. As a result of your and so many other peoples amazing posts here, I just filled out my driving school application and have done various other things to prepare for a career on the road.
I thank you and everyone else who's posted here from the very bottom of my heart for helping make my decision and allowing me to feel both comfortable and better prepared for what to expect in my first year. Safe travels to each and every one of you, and I hope to meet you along the way some day in the future.
And Diesel, if I DO run into you, lunch or dinner's on me... Cheeseburger? LOLSingingWolf, Chopper1776, dieselfuelonly and 1 other person Thank this. -
