Just out of curiosity, lately ive been noticing alot of older model tractors with no markings running up and down I95 which got me thinking. which got me thinking about local day cab owner operators. Can they exist in this world whether they're pulling end dumps, dry vans, tankers or intermodal? Any info would be appreciated. Also, companies here in CT like Universal Can Am, Cardinal and Forward Air have lease programs for day cabs. Are they scams or is it legit?

Plenty of container work in Florida for day cab O/O. I run a day cab pulling local flats, do OK.Better than when I was OTR.

There are some heavy haul guys that run daycabs. Usually a heavy haul o/o running a daycab runs a 13-19 axle trailer. They will catch a ride to the nearest motel with a pilot car (even empty, they will be required to have a pilot car). Personally, I wouldn't do it, because it takes so long to get anything done...I would at the very least have to have a coffin sleeper.

I'm not really sure what you are asking? If you live in ct, there are lots of o/o that run day cabs in the tri-state area. Most gross 650$-1000 per day depending on freight and number of loads each day. As for the companies you just listed I would try to steer clear of them. Unless your good with grossing half of that. Although I'm not sure about forward freight. So I don't wanna put them down w/o having any facts behind it. But judging by how their tractors look going up and down I-91, I would venture a guess to say prob not gonna wheel large dollars there either. But what do I know.
