How to DAY DREAM and drive the big rig? I'd like to be a truck driver, but my better half says I am a day dreamer while driving. But I have never had or have caused an accident. Is there a way to drive and dream at the same time? Please help me with my dreams to be an official truck driver!!!:biggrin_2558:

inattention and distractions are causes for accidents. are you sure you do not have ADD.........???

if you were to be with your driver-trainer at your job (if and when you go to school and graduate) he will notice you are in "another world" and have you canned. you would be a hazard.

I recommend Swift or Werner. I think that is one of their requirements!:biggrin_25523:

I think she thinks I day dream, because I do not reply to her when we are in the car. I say to her it's because I am ignoring you so I do not acknowledge commenting back. So she says I Day Dream. But all aside if I want to be a truck drive because after 16 years in aviation i'v had enough of start overs and redoes. Id like to have a real career were I can move up not take a nose dive back down to the bottom. I have restarted 3 times in aviation and this last one I can not get over I want OUT!!!!!

what makes you think you'll "move up" in trucking..........???

    driver........driver-trainer..........owner-operator...........office...........

the BS gets harder on you the "higher up" you go...........and you'll get your head chopped off faster as well..............

and i can assure you, you WILL be starting over again, each time you switch jobs

Can't be harder than aviation. It’s about the eases thing out there but about the time you feel you have planted a seed BAM!!! Layoff!!!!!! Just ask the past 50,000 + since 911. A lot of my past co worker moved over to trucking and out of aviation. I like the big rig, my dad did it for his career and wanted me to I told him hell no I’m going to make it in aviation boy was that a mistake since 911 never been the same and they are back to hurting again with the economic time were in now nobody fly’s in hard times freight will always be needed.:biggrin_25515:

Hah! Definitely not harder! Aviation mechanic=career Truck driving=lifestyle Just don't burn your bridges. I have a feeling you might not like trucking.

Well personally, I don't do anything I don't like to do. Your life is in your hands and you only get one go around. There's my two cents (cha-ching)!
