I know them some what, They took over Upton produce a few years ago and many of the drivers from there are still with them. They get good miles and decent home time. its company and some O/O they use to have a term in Hanceville AL but I am not sure if they still do, that was the Upton terminal they have decent equipment and I have met some of the bosses when I hauled some loads for them through Upton they were okay and the drivers for them seemed happy enough.

I worked for Daybreak and had to quit due to an injury BUT if I were to go back OTR, it would be with Daybreak. They pay well, treat you like a person, not a number. Dispatch and load co ordinators are great to work with and they INSIST that you get home regularly.

I also worked for Upton's Produce and when Scott Fields (Daybreak) bought them out he was very generous with Marvin Upton. He didn't have to buy all of the trucks and land but he did to help out an old friend. That's the kind of man he is. Scott has since closed and sold the Alabama property. There are still some of the "Upton Drivers" there and will probably retire from there.

I have worked for big companies, O/O and small companies...this is the best by far!!! No haggling over pay, no one trying to rip you off. If you have a question you just go to payroll and they will sit down with you and answer your questions. As for pay, LOL ALWAYS on time!

The equipment is always well maintained and if something needs done to the truck, they make sure it's done properly. Scott doesn't put up with slackers and he doesn't put up with running illegally. You'd better know your stuff when you hit his yard. He runs a tight but fair ship and if you're lucky enough to get on with them, you'll find no better people to work for.

THAT my friend is a REAL company!

I worked for Daybreak for five years before they downsized my job out of existence. They are like every other company these days. They treat you like family as long as they need you and then they dump you like a bad habit. No owner/operators anymore. They want it all for the house.
