Jim Palmer Trucking is difficult to get on with and accept about 4 or 5 applications out of every 400 they receive.
Since you enjoy travelling cross country; look at these with cdl training.
These 3 will probably get you on the road quicker:
Dutch Maid - Willard,Ohio - refrigerated trucking.
CFI - www.cfidrive.com - dry van coast to coast.
Stevens Transport - Refrigerated trucking. You'll see all 48 states while driving the nicest trucks on the road that are set up for driver comfort. Paychecks fluctuate; good weeks & bad weeks. Training is excellent.

Choices I've made have created some obstacles but I'll work through em. This is especially one occupation that one must be humble, coachable and network for knowledge. Thanks everyone for all the current and future tips!!!!!

We look forward to you hitting the road soon!

Im in Cincinnati. Im not sure what lart of Dayton you are in, but in Fairfield is Napier Truck Driving school. Went there and got my cdl. Got it all paid for by the county.
Do yourself a favor and check out the private school someone mentioned above. Ask them about the WIA program. It is a program where your county will pay for you to be re-trained in another field like trucking. They covered everything. School, medical card, endorsements, cdl tests, my cdl, and even a bit of gas money for the commute. This will be your best course of action, that way you can chose the company you work for and wont be tied to a contract for a year.
If you do go with company sponsored training check out Millis Trucking. They are one of the better mega outfits. Also, USA Truck has a terminal half mile from the airfield, but they dont have their own school.
Good luck.SouthernNortherner Thanks this. -
