I've been local for almost ten years so I am out of the loop on all that has been going on in the OTR world. I'm getting ready to go back out there. I need to know if I'm better off with a DC TV or an adapter so I can run a AC TV ect... I have a DC Sony with a seven inch screen, in the box hardly ever used that is 11 years old, but I need a spare to keep at home just in case. My big screen (RCA twelve inch) is old and broke. Am I better off getting a new one or fixing the old one that is over twelve 12 years old. Plus any other stuff I need to know as far as antenna's, satellite's, ect..ect... Thanks for any replies
DC tv or adapter

For one thing the old one is analog and will need a converter soon to pick up digital signals . You can get an inverter that plugs into a cigarette light that will provide power for an A/C tv . Many networks broadcast tv shows on the web now so if you plan on having a laptop you can watch tv online .

I always got AC TVs and just used a 100 Watt inverter with it. I had DC TVs and the darn things break all the time. I still have my AC TV I used in my truck for about 10 years or so. All the DC TVs I ever bought are deep in garbage dumps somewhere now and this sucker I use ALL night long in my bedroom.
Be careful though...some companies allow NO inverters no matter if they are even only 100 Watt due to the electronic engines, etc. I used to work for Heartland Express and they would not allow ANY size inverters, so I hid it well, LOL. But, IF they caught you, they would fire you on the spot...onionbuster Thanks this. -

The owner of Harvest, Rodney Connor has had several companies. The one before this was Northwest Transport which folded after a year or so. Talked to an ex-driver of theirs today. He said you had to watch your settlements and sometimes the pay cheques wouldn't be good for a week or so till there was money in the bank.
I think you would be better at Central Oregon but the decision is yours. Keep us posted. Best of luck.onionbuster Thanks this. -
