Hey guys is there any difference between buying a cascadia with a DD13 versus a DD15 for long haul work (California, Oregon, Washington). Will the DD-13 engine work just fine on the hills and haul all the loads with no weight issue ? I would appreciate any advice on this topic. Thank you!

It depends on job as to which mule you pull from the barn:rolleyes::D. The harder the job the stronger mule needed :D

It depends on the job as ibe said. Biggier motor will do the job better in mountains and hills or if super heavy all the time. but even the 13 paired to the proper transmission and gear rato will be fine.

It really just depends on how patent you are. How heavy you plan to be on a regular basis, how much you value economy and where you run.

As a fast and loose rule. Big loads in mountains going quickly = bigger motor better. On flatlands or light loads with economy as top priority smaller engine = better.

Engine size doesnt really become a firm requirment until you get into the super heavy loads.

Need to consider the engine load too. The aftertreatment systems generally work better when the engine is actually working.

lol made me laugh, also he said that he’s running lumber, so are you running a dedicated lane? Always loaded or loaded one way empty back perhaps @Regional
