DD15 Oil Pump and Orings. What happens when you believe paperwork.

    2016MY and newer have new updated o-rings and updated plastic manifolds. Oil pumps get updated almost every year(according to pn changes)

    I have a strong feeling this is what’s happening to mine right now in GA.
    What is the 5second low oil pressure light you stated came on? Is it the lil red one In the gauge?
    I’m trying to decide if I need to cancel the rest of my week and try to make it back home to NC and fix it or push it till end of week?

    my issue could have been the rain causing the sensor to short out, and because of this I had the oil pump replaced. By doing so we caught a major issue that could have been worse.


    But it is a red light on the gauge that would come on, and I would shut down quickly and restart and the light would go off. I’m thank full that when it would happen I was on the side of the road parked both times.

    as far as your situation, I would get it looked at asap. One of the few parts that I’m glad I changed.

    the chip in the gear is just being worn out over time. The pump was worn out as well. We noticed it when we opened the pump up to look at the gears.

    study pressure but low range of acceptable. To get to the oil pump the tubes need to be removed. All done at the same time. The orings on the 2013 DD15 are different material then the updated one. That’s what a friend of mine told me and he’s a genius on DD15’s.


    As for the rest I can’t help you other than say one thing. Always check everyone’s work.
