Did you ever have an original Nintendo years ago? I had one when I was a kid, and after a few years it wouldn't read the games anymore and we had to blow over the cartridge contact strip before installing it into the game console. It's worth a try.

    Oldironfan and freightlinerman Thank this.

UPDATE: I did try blowing into the cartridges, no dice. I ended up going to a truck garage here in Anthony, TX(near NM border). I told them the problem and asked if they had a DDEC II, III or IV truck to plug into. I went to a Peterbilt 379 with a DDEC III Series 60 in it that using the 6 pin circular connector with the DDEC III cartridge. After plugging it in to the port and cigarette lighter, then cycling ignition on, it started beeping. This time, the screen did NOT come on. So, different cartridge, different cable, and different truck with the same result. CONCLUSION: Bad Pro Link.

So, changing my plug to a 6 pin circular would not have done me any good. That was the point I was trying to make. Thank you everyone for your help, it is very APPRECIATED. Thank's heavyd and Pablo!

That's too bad. They were/are a nice tool to have. I hope you can find another one, or maybe return it and get your money back.

Ouh, so old test gadgets I used to work on DDEC-I (one ECM in cab and injector control box on engine). Really old thing.

Your connector is GM typical OBD I . Known as a 12 pin connector. The 1996 (some 94-95 cars) OBD II has 16 pin.

So the DDEC II is , although a non-deutsch connector, a J1587/1708 protocol ??? Did not know that. On my side I have a 1990 Volvo/White WHL64 with DDEC II and I can't find my diagnostic connector. I have one behind seat for my Allison ATEC/CEC1 . The pin out match and Prolink Ultra talks with it. Would you know if ATEC is also a J1587/1708 protocol also ?

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

I have been told many times ddec 2 ecm will not communicate with dddl software.
