Driving 1-2 MPH slower than speed limit or the prevailing speed of others will make YOUR situation better. Most traffic drives 5-15 over the speed limit. Most fleet trucks are limited somewhere between 65-75 MPH by the company. So if you drive just slightly less than those other drivers you never have to pass, all merging traffic speeds away from you and you have less stress. Your job is to be 100% safe, not as fast as anyone else. Switch your mindset from "I have to win the race" to "eff 'em, I'll get there when I get there."
If you keep doing what you are doing you will have heart problems, a wreck, or both. Imagine your anger when you wreck and your only job options are for a lot less money in a much worse truck and working worse hours. If you can't change your attitude, change your job. NOBODY needs a wreck. Having expectations about traffic causes some people to be angry because reality didn't match what they expected. Have no expectation.Savor the Flavor, Lennythedriver, Moosetek13 and 5 others Thank this. -

It helps if you can talk to somebody else who is mad just like you. I got a buddy who wants to walk around and taze everybody at truckstops just for violating common courtesy. He cracks me up. If I'm mad and hate my job, I call him and it helps.. he's worse!
