not so much today, it still can happen, but a lot of the T/S in the colder weather states condition the fuel for the cold

In 2008, I saw trucks gelled on the side of the road when it hit -26 in Illinois. Must have been over 25. My APU quit because it gelled.

Bio diesel has higher gell point.

Good advice. I should take heed of that. You get comfortable driving in slick conditions and soon your running HOT. No load is worth your license, life or anyone else's. Run it cool and keep it between the ditches.

Still a good post to this day.

Something I've always been curious about, how did you guys get over your fear/nerves with winter?

some very good tips in this thread, one thing i didn't notice mentioned. is if you find yourself in a whiteout condition esp at night time. and you cant tell where the road is. don't look directly infront of you look off to the sides, iv had to drive watching the opposite shoulder of the road looking out the drivers side window to get to a safe place before. but many times just looking to the lower right vrs staring straight ahead is just the ticket you need to be able to tell where the road is, similar to when someone is coming at you at night with super bright high beams on

also if its 32* and wet heavy snow, blast your defrost
if its -10 and snowing keep your windsheld cold no defrost and the snow will blow over your window vrs stick to it.

You know it is funny, Growing up in Montana, you don't really think about things like that because you are just used to them
