deBoer won't pay for your school. They reimburse your tuition but that's it. From what i hear and this is only second hand knowledge, most companies that pay for school are companies you want to stay away from. However, many people in here have had the same problem your having of no money and have been able to find help. Start your own thread and ask people for advise somebody will help you.

ellis44, You might give Central Refrigerated a call. I dont have the number on hand but I do know they have a school in Irving, Tx.. I will start w/ them on Monday. If you attend to thier school they will absorb the rest of the school expense after 12 mos of service. Ask for Jyne in recruiting if you are interested.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I hate reefers and I think it's the worst kinda frieght to deliver. But do give them a call maybe you will like it.

easyrider,
Can you let us know what their cpm pay is? Their web site is very limited on information. Also, I see they have a drop yard in Renton, WA (Seattle area). Does this mean that even though they are headquartered in the MidWest, they have West Coast runs and will hire on the West Coast?
Thanks! -
Easyrider, best of luck to you. That pay is pretty nice for your experience level,I would stay there, they seem to recognize the need to take care of new and good drivers. Have an enjoyable time out there.

Roehl's 7/4 7/3 means out seven days take four off, then out seven days take 3 days off. The was this works is having 3 guys sharing 2 trucks. You end up working three weeks a months. 2800 miles a week X 32cpm x 36 weeks=$32256.
-
Oh I plan to stay right where I'm at. I'm not sure about the cpm. i know it goes up with every 40,000 miles driven. However I can't put a number on specific exp miles. It's .285 to start. Which I've heard is low but I make between 600 to 800 hundred a week. I recently got a raise to .295 a mile so that should increase. You get paid more when you haul curtain vans.

But then you don't have your own truck. I mean that might be allright to somebody who doesn't care about that. I don't know, everybody is different but that's not something I'm interested in. However, that is pretty good home time. Also, if you home every week isn't that regional?

I would not start out driving a autoshift transmission if you are still learning the rope, but that IMO.
I have heard mostly good things about this company. But the pay is to low for a driver with experience to work there in my opinion. And if you are not able to run the moutains in the winter as a rookie, then you will always be a rookie driving in the mountains, right? How is a rookie who lives on the west coast sapposed to get home? heck when I trained at USX I would get my truck out west with my trainee as quick as I could.
Sounds like a good alternitive to pumkin, werner, or swift.
I talked to a recruiter there in WI a while back named Gerald, and he sounded like I woke him from his nap. It was like prying the jaws of a gator open trying to get info out of him. They need to retire that guy.
