How will the equipment be better? deBoer is fanatical about maintaining there equipment. Also, what do you mean about a training company? Do you mean that's all there good for or that they train?

There equip. isnt top of line, the majority of there trks r high miles, most co.s dump there trucks at 500k to 600k, deboer will run trks 800 2 900K. ther trls r in rough shape.. They only there trucks to be washed at terms.. There lds are heavy, they do lots of paper.. So everything is hammered, paper mills are always off the beaten path in sum town, that is only do to paper mill.. They pull lots of rail freight in DFW area, means short miles.. There appts they set r way to much time under load. The good things there friendly, when they know your going to get it up the butt.. There good about home time.. Cant think of anything else

I nor anybody at deBoer never said there equipment was top of the line. I never saw a truck that was above 700k. I agree that some of the trls are in bad shape. That being said I've been to lots of drop yards and I've seen crappy trls from every company. Again, deboer does do a lot of paper loads, I think paper mills are good places to pick up because most will let you sleep on the grounds and they are very large places.

A seasoned driver will figure out my statement.
But if you really wanted to start with little experince needed, Knight would be the way to go, better pay, nice equip, nice terminals and freight lanes u want to ride. There flexiable and do try to get u home. -
Then start your own Knight thread.
Yea I guess I need to get more seasoned cause I still don't know what hammered means, never heard of it. The only thing I can think of is that some loads are hammered down to the floor, but I really don't think that is what your talking about.
Obviously you do not like deBoer and that's okay but I do. I think they have the best people working for them and I will continue to say so. -
Its not that i didnt like the people in operations, they were fine. Just trying to make the paycheck. Im looking at freight pool, freight lanes, equipment and time under load.. When I used the term hammered, it was regarding pulling heavy paper loads, its hard on the tractor and the wagon. All paper mills our located off major interstates. So you end up in the woods off the beaten path, that costs time and time is money and if you dont inspect that trl prior to paper mill and it has any holes or bad gaskets it will be rejected. So you best bet is to stay hook to a good trl. There oreintation in texarkana, was ok was very painless. But there sign on bonus, you can forget about that, they wont buy a bag of chips for your lunch, they do provide a co car for transportation, but the infamous bunk house u sleep in is nasty.. The bathroom is dirty. There term in WI is nice. There office staff cant control this, its up to the old man and his kids to make things better. But the way I c it.. There in business since the 60's and if its the best they will do.

I and everyone I have ever heard on the C.B just calls it pulling heavy, but whatever it doesn't matter. I agree that the Texarkana bunkhouse sucks but they just built a new one in Wisconsin that is like a motel. Not just paper loads are heavy, I've hauled lots of other stuff that was real heavy as well. I do not seem to understand your problem with paper mills. I think the are great places to pick-up and deliver. There big, always have people on hand and usually let you sleep on the lot. So it's heavy, again so is other stuff.
They bought my class lunch during orientation, but maybe that was just my luck.
One more thing, I have never had a trailer rejected at any paper mill. -
they are best everone should work for them
-
I say they are good because they are. If you think they are not then so be it. I never had my truck break down. Please use spell check.
