Ok, it says "award winning drivers are safe and courteous". That doesn't mean "our" award winning drivers, or "all" award winning drivers. But most likely somewhere on the planet ,, there are award winning drivers who are safe and courteous. So they're not lying or wrong.

Hey, so I emailed the recruiter today asking him if Jan 5th was official and he got back to me within an hour and said that yes, it's official. I'm surprised he got back to me so quickly, and on a Saturday, so maybe I was worried over nothing. Also, thanks for suggesting that Swift thread. Cleared up a lot for me regarding the entire process.

Glad I chose them and that others came to the same conclusion as I did in that Swift does seem like a decent starting place.

Swift encourages drivers to participate. If you make it to nationals you get an all expenses paid week's vacation with you and your spouse. Over the years there's been a few champions that have come from Swift.

In order to qualify for entering the competition Swift requires an RA score of zero or better and 100% on time. "RA" means Risk Analysis, the internal score that includes anything that would go on a CSA score plus events like over speeding, taking a turn too fast, hard braking events, or being reported by the motoring public for discourteous or dangerous driving.

Me and the owner of DHE, Bob Massman ...he was President Cal Truck Assoc that year

I'm a sucker for things like that, so I'll admit, I'm a little jealous.

It was a fun day...sunburn and all! The way they set up the course, turns out it is actually more luck than skill. The ROADEO was originally a competition of LTL and local drivers, mainly UPS, FedEx, Yellow, so the course design isn't really for long box so they "adjusted". Driving on a "course" is so very different from reality. Don't pay much attention to the little things we use as clues for positioning on the streets and highways...they aren't there in the course, so a lot of guess work determining where your steer tire is in a tight turn, or how close (without touching) the "dock plate" is to the back end.

In 2013 the Nationals were held in SLC, and this year in Philly.....SLC no biggie, but Philly I wanted it too much I guess......TOTAL FAIL of course!:biggrin_2559:

Any idea why Swift doesn't enter drivers in the CA state competition? Not a single one in either the North or the South past few years. Only thing required is the company have a terminal in the State.

If they drive anything like the 4-wheelers in SoCal, I have a good idea why.....

There's a remarkable change in your appearance since that picture. Did a werewolf, I mean wereotter, bite you one full moon night?
