I'm a relatively new driver. I have 6 months experience doing a local job, well a 500 mile radius from home, and get home most nights. I want to go over the road and hopefully make more money. (This local thing doesn't pay much.) I have an offer from PAM and US Express with about the same pay and one from JB Hunt with a pay rate 7 cents higher than the other two. I want to go with the JB Hunt offer but am wondering what the catch is?

Pam and US are OTR company's. JB has gotten rid of most of it's OTR stuff and is now almost totally intermodel freight.
So allot of the moves with them are short, from shippers to rail yards, and out of rail yards.
So you will get more per mile, but not many miles.
i have talked to several US drivers lately that I know, they have been at US for a few years each, and one is OTR and getting allot of miles. The other is on a dedicated and doing very well also.
I do not know any Pam drivers.

Thanks for the advise ChromeDome. The JB recruiter was telling me 2400 miles per week. I thought it sounded too good to be true.
