I have a decision to make here and have a couple of options. I am presently waiting to hear from Michigan Works on whether they will pay for training. If they don't then I have to decide on whether to either pay for the training myself, or go with a company paid program.
I actually came up with a third option (maybe), has anybody ever gone and gotten their TIP, DOT physical, and then gone and rented a Tractor trailer for a couple days ? I have two people in my family that actually have their CDL already that cold ride along and train me.
I would like to hear any "constructive" advice anyone would have for me.

The first two options sound better. We all would like to get out as cheap as possible.

I have seen places in Chicagoland that will rent you a tractor trailer for your test. But to go down to a place like Ryder, I doubt they would rent you one. I think you either have to do a lease or be factory or some other business to rent one for a day or week. They just don't rent to anyone.

    brown269 Thanks this.

CondoCruiser thanks for the input, I know that the third would be a very long shot at best and it was actually one of those "hey what if I did it this way !" moments.
