Is there anywhere on the portal or anywhere else (at the terminal maybe?) that a list of available dedicated accounts is posted? I might be interested in a dedicated gig, but I'm not really aware of what's out there. Also, do any of you drivers have any personal insight into any of the dedicated options and the pros and cons of going that route?

I just finished orientation today. They said that when you are on a dedicated account you loose your driver ranking and do not get a bonus. Don't know much else other than there are some walmart DC's, target, sears and dollar general. There were a few more they talked about but I don't remember as I'm not really too interested in the dedicated accounts at this point I really just want some experience so maybe I know what I'm doing.

I'm OTR right now, but I'd consider dedicated if I could find a good fit. I know of the existence of the bigger ones (Wal Mart, Costco, Family Dollar, etc.), but I'm wondering if there's a "master list" so to say of everything available as far as dedicated goes?

I know the dedicateds normally require 6months experience
Also I believe I heard from someone on a dedicated that they get their bonus....have to ask for certain, your still a company driver so I dont see why they would take that from you but then again who knows.

My DL told me if you want to find them then you need to talk to the DM's and see what they have available and if you qualify, they will let you know both and if you dont qualify they can tell you to come back in 2 months, 5 months etc. From what I heard each DM controls different dedicated fleets

The ones that I know of are walmart, Family Dollar, dollar tree (requires driver unloads) Family dollar might too, costco, target, there are a lot of others too but you just need to look into it, its not posted anywhere.

If you are a new driver these can be decent, experienced and all dedicated accounts that I have been offered are a pay cut at Swift for the lure of "home time" "predictability". The family dollar isn't that bad of work once you get a flow and technique of using the sliding tracks, just wish it paid something worthwhile.

Most of the dedicated are on a set fixed pay rate per mile. The amount is usually set by the customer and can vary customer to customer. I know of one that pays .48 per mile while another pays .31. Most are about .34 to .38. Your fleet manager is the person to talk to about getting on one. You can also ask some of the drivers that have been around the terminal a couple of years, one or two will know what's there.
