If the ODFL is close... even though they "prematurely denied" you... wouldn't hurt to walk in. If you can "present" yourself, better than paper (bring that, too, tho...) It's always a chance. What've you got to lose, right?

 

A lot of backing in off the street is the bottom line with those stops.

 

Every week on here there's at least one driver posting that no company will hire him because he had 3 or 4 incidents, usually backing up. When we pressure the driver to fess up and give us more details, it's usually because he was on a Dollar General account with one of the companies that does those accounts. Yes, the money is good, but not worth the back breaking work and risk of being fired.

 

Something to consider. They might actually need drivers for that account right now, BUT your training is going to take a minimum of 1 month. It isn't always easy to see that far into the future. Also, the dollar accounts in the south are just brutal. You really need to be in good shape going into it or youre going to have serious issues. BUT If you can hack it there is money there.
