The crystals mix in with the water and dissolve. Just like when you spill it on your truck. You get white powder. Drive through a rainstorm and the powder is gone.

I know a farmer that makes his own for his Ford F350 and one of his tractors. He gets liquid urea fertilizer and mixes it with water. Says he can make it for less than half what it cost retail.
I told him he should at least use distilled water but he uses regular tap water. I figure some of the impurities in tap water is going to eventually screw something up.

I've thought about marketing "High Performance DEF". I wonder if it would sell?

At a dealership lube shop or commercial oil / tire shop. I don't need the stuff, but I notice the pricing. Housby Mack in Des Moines is selling DEF for $1.89 a gallon. Will fill any truck that rolls in and even the diesel pickups and cars. Allied Oil and Tire in Des Moines is selling DEF for roughly the same price. Many dealers have far better pricing on their bulk DEF than the truck stops. Since one doesn't really have to fill but once a week, finding locations like this can save some pocket money on DEF costs.

Yeah, but their DEF may not be as fresh....

Which could end up costing you in repairs later down the road.

    Just a thought...
