    Hey folks,

I'm a driver and recently my company installed a new anti-idle device that has frozen me out a couple times already. Normally I'd bail on the job and move on, but this particular one pays rather well, I have VERY consistent hometime and a great boss, so I had find another solution. I figured out how to defeat the new anti-idle device, but it sucks and isn't realistic. So, with the help of a friend, we are engineering a much better solution and the prototype is being built as we speak(type).

What we've come up with is an incredibly simple device that can be installed by any driver, in any truck, and DOESN'T modify the truck in any way, shape or form. We are working on getting the device to market ASAP, so you too, can sleep at night.

What I'm here to ask you guys for is feedback on what you would be looking for in such a device.

    A) What features would you want in this device?
    B) Is it necessary to buy it from a truck stop instead of just Amazon?
    C) What kind of price point would you be looking for in such a device?

Thank you very much for the help. If you have any questions please ask and I'll answer anything that won't violate the forum rules.

If I wanted to keep my job I don't think I would be trying to bypass/defeat a feature installed by the company...just sayin... Bad juju ..eventually the company will notice .. then it is bye bye... and that may be when you least expect it ..

I would either suck it up , seee if there is a problem with the companies device or move on... this is just my opinion..

when your mpg drops from 7 to 5 mpg because you were idling, they are gonna notice, and that cushy driving job is going to be no more

Most of the company trucks these days have some kind of active recording device (that can basically be monitored in real time) on them that tracks hard braking, overspeeds, idling, etc. Unless you can also fool that system, it would be worthless. Also how would the driver also start to explain the enevitable loss of fuel mileage because of the idling?

So you already have the device, but are asking for input?
And said device does not modify in any way?

First off, any device will modify the truck, so your claim is plain stupid.

And second, if you already had a device to do what you wanted, input of wants from potential customers would be unnecessary.

    Doubly stupid.

And why do you need a device when you can simply turn on cruise, idle the truck up, and then truck will idle all night long.

Hey, it's still a free market economy (sort of), so if the guy wants to market an anti-idle device, more power to him. Nobody says you HAVE to buy it.

As for the OP's questions, Amazon is cool, and I would hope it would be under $100.

Well, that will NOT work with my truck. Neither will just setting the trailer brakes, or any of the other "old tricks".
