I have never done otr, but I’ve done local/regional including having 2 full time jobs running LTL Line haul at night followed by sitting in a dump truck for 8 hours the following morning for quite a few years, also done my fair share of 1000 mile days hauling waste paid by the ton (use your imagination on weight) chasing pennies, it’s a waste of time. I’ll work to provide for my life while most live to work for someone whose only concern when they drop dead is why their freight isn’t moving.
life is too short, especially for keeping a box of recycleables pinned at a 62 mph governor while watching a clock click downLast edited: Apr 2, 2022

To me ... running hard means your driving for the big uglies ... prime swift knight werner England etc... its fine if your young dumb and full of .... desire. But after a few years in the business you learn about the better companies and better lifestyles. Best of luck to you my friend.
