My Cobra 29 is mounted on the dashboard of my truck, and the back end of it is kinda close to small windshield defroster vent coming out of my dash. If I run my radio with the defroster on, could the heat coming out of the vent be enough to "fry" or damage the finals on the radio?

Just a guess but if the radio gets hot to the touch near that vent, it might cause troubles. If you run defrost in most trucks, the AC comes on to dehumidify the air and keep the glass from getting too hot. You might run a fan directed at the back of the radio to blow the heat away.

Ever been in Arizona in July? I don't think you need to worry.

I would move it just to be on the safe side.

I have seen the heat from a defroster melt the rubber on the windshield wiper blades to the glass of the windshield, many times.
