gotcha. You can be your registered agent, doesn't need to be someone you hire. I cant really see someone getting to excited over something like that but that's just my opinion. If I see a small time outfit with a couple of trucks being registered out of the Hancock building on Michigan Ave....that's not hard to figure out....

It's possible I just think in today trucking it going to be an up hill struggle. Look a company like Prime today. This is just my opinion but they make money by hiring new drivers and paying them beginners wages. Then they can put two new driver and run them as team. Prime can make money more money on team of new drivers.

Look at how Prime does their lease. They charge $1,000 a week ! $4,000 a month for truck payment. If you complete the lease you get $36,000 as a bouse for completing the lease. All they are doing is giving you back your money for 3 years of high monthly payment. If the drivers don't complete the lease Prime keep that money. That's a pretty good deal for Prime and they can lease the truck to another driver and they can try the same deal. If a driver complete the lease Prime wins because they make money if the drivers works that hard and runs the miles. You sell someone on a dream of ownership but over charged on the lease payments and if they fail you can say, you failed, it's you fault or you did not work hard enough.

Are you Company or lease on? On your authority it will show which is which (mailing address vs physical address). The LLC will require a registered agent so you might as well use the same mailing address on your authority and EIN. This helps down the road when you want to apply for business credit. Fleet owners don't mix business and personal assets together.

Me personally, a one truck operation is not worth the time or headache with setting up a complex structure. But if you looking at starting a fleet then it's different; and protecting your assets is a must...

Your 1 month at Regus covers the cost of my PO Box for 5 years...not even close to "the same price".

    Your reading to fast....

The office starting price is $350. To have them receive my mail.... I paid $99.00 for the year. What is the going rate for a PO Box? I think it's about the same

I agree. Plus the lessee doesn't understand the numbers. I think most of them just use it as a bigger payday.

There is an old saying, "where there is a will there is a way" plenty of options available to legitimately establish a business in either of the states I have mentioned, along with the required business accounts, there is companies offering turn key solutions, for the time poor (at a cost obviously)

As highway executive has shown, with a little thought put into the process it's not particularly hard to achieve, wether it's worth the effort is what I'm currently working through.

I'm not sure how you figure its a complex structure but to each its own. I've formed a LLC and will be leasing the truck onto a company. I am the registered agent of the LLC. The business address that is being used is at the UPS Store with the exception of the business Bank Account that was opened through Chase Bank it needed an actual residence or office etc etc. I already have a Business credit card through chase. I'm not interested in owning a fleet. I did the LLC route because of how simple it is to set up and keep everything separated. Nothing to it.
