What's harder? Delivering beer or delivering food/groceries? And which'll pay more?
You don't have to tell me how hard delivering food is. I'm already in the business of doing that. Was wondering about beer. It doesn't look all that hard, yet I hear otherwise. I usually see them carrying in 2-3 loads of kegs or cases and then its on to the next stop. I figure pay's probably similar, but I do hear foodservice guys make a bit more.

If your talking about route delvery. Pretty much both are the same. Orders are preloaded on your truck, you go to each stop unload it's order, go onto the next stop. mutipal stops each day, same customers each week.So you get to know the employees at each store, devleope working relationship with them.
A great job to have to stay fit. But watch out for the back. Properlifting will help avoid back problems down the road. I'd go with the beer route. Did the same thing , but in soft drinks many years ago.
I would supsect both jobs pay hourly, but what i don't have that info. -
I did a coke route before. Beer is similar but the truck is loaded better. Cokes the truck is loaded at random and you had to dig every stop. Beer distributors load the bays according to stops the way it should be done.
Another thing with Coke you were in and out of the cooler. I'm sure the beer guys do the same. Sweat, chill, sweat, chill...
Plus you have to rotate the stock in the cooler and the displays.
Bulk at groceries stores is a piece of cake. Dump and run.
Food you pretty much dump and run?? -
You have to be more careful. Beer is liquid(I know you probably know that) and when the stack it high it makes the truck not only top heavy but shifty. Take extra caution in your turns!

Maybe if your pulling a smooth bore tanker of beer,...
You will not notice any "surge" hauling beer in 12 ounce cans,... -
When I applied for a beer distribution job I was told the wage was hourly plus commission. Depending on what you delivered, kegs, cases, bulk, etc., each had a different commission level.
