Serious question: What's with the attitude toward those who have offered constructive advice as to how to make yourself more attractive to prospective employers?

No one is persecuting you by offering this advice.

The fact that Palmer rejected you should tell you something about what you are presenting to employers.

Why not take some steps that would improve your chances of obtaining a decent driving job?

 

Without a diploma you're not going to find any better companies then Pam.I suggest go back to school get your GED if you wanna get back into the work force rather then working under the table.Companies require a work history.

 

@alghazi was right on point and respectful.If you want advice from the forum then learn to accept constructive critisim.You can come up with all the excuses in the world for not getting your GED but that's not going to help your situation.So if you're not willing to go the extra mile to better. your life then take what you can get and go with Pam.Baggers can't be choosers.

 

Get what you need to get and the more you better your situation the better companies will hire you!

 

Talking about earning cash under the table online potentially sets you up for a examination by IRS and more trouble. I have a taste for being a Captian Obvious, but you better find something legit and get away from that Sawmill. As far as earning under table etc. Don't breathe a word about that anywhere. Especially online.

 

My situation was not exactly the same but probably close from an employer's perspective. I had my own consulting business for five years before I went into trucking. I was self employed. I must have filled out fifty applications and got only two responses: Werner and Swift. I called every company and most would not tell me why they had turned me down. Those that did all said it was my lack of employment history.

So I called Werner. She told me it would probably be OK but the company would need copies of my tax returns for the last three years. For the record, "##" is probably not the best thing to say to someone you want to hire you, It just sort of slipped out. So then I called Swift. Their recruiter told me point blank "We don't care". Three days later I was at Swift's orientation.

I did have a hazmat endorsement, which meant I had passed a background check and wasn't trying to hide some unreported stint in prison. That might have helped. IDK.

 

This is conclusive proof that Palmer absolutely made the right call.
