Well I got into the apparently good habit of using these things while driving. I keep a bag of them up in my overhead bin and pull a couple down each day while out on the open road. these are the plastic pics with a floss string on one end and a pic on the other.

Went in for my cleaning/check up last night and the dentist was impressed, no cavities and better gums. She says keep using them, very good for the gum health. She also told me that you can dry brush...i.e. use your tooth brush without toothpaste. She said the brush takes away the tarter, the toothpaste is just for fluoride.

I think this is a good post as while i was shut down for a day waiting for the atlanta snow crap to clear up i spoke with a driver who was parked next to me telling me that he was headed to knoxville next to have his teeth pulled they were so bad and hurting. I've also had a few students who obviously needed a visit to the dentist.

I drive for Roehl and they are just like any other transportation company. What I was surprised with is that our delta dental insurance is really top notch and dental care is super cheap when using it. So be sure to check out/use that dental insurance if you have it and take care of yourself. tooth pain sucks and in many cases can be prevented.

You can get those dental pic things at just about any store in the toothbrush area, they come in small zip lock bags of the hundreds for a few bucks. Might be worth checking/trying out if you haven't already.

I brush my tooth once a month, whether it needs it or not.

We use the dry brush method sort of... We dip the brush in a mouthwash to dampen, but not enough to where you have to spit... Makes the brush not quite as gross if not rinsed! Plus it 'freshens' your breath :)

I only buy fluoride free toothpaste. Fluoride has been proven to cause cancer. Personally, I'd rather have a cavity. I use toothpaste always for fresh breath :) I simply rinse with bottled water and spit out the window. I should floss more often however. Thx for the tip.

I just buy plastic toothpicks and regular spool of waxed floss. Cheaper and "greener". Plastic toothpicks last forever. They're thinner for when you have minimal tooth gaps.

I see too many of those pick/floss things laying in the parking lot.

So has chocolate, coffee, red meat, white meat, sugar, sugar substitutes, soda of all forms, carrots, celery, aspirin, Advil, tums, fish, shark, bear, fox, diesel fumes, gas fumes, propane fumes, power lines, cell phone use, Bluetooth use. Watching tv, and pretty much everything we are around, use, or consume. The point being, if you look hard enough you can link cancer and every other disease/health issue to anything you want. If fluoride actually caused cancer everyone of us would be dead.

I carry a pair of angled needle-nose pliers. When a tooth gets out of line, I ask another driver to reach in, grab it good, and give it a good pull. Works every time and you don't have to deal with those silly "insurance" plans and witch doctors that led us to the great and fantastic "health care system" we have now.

I use a product named G*U*M and the only place I find it is Walmart. They are color coded blue and green. I prefer the blue tapered ones. They are a small round bristle brush and keep the gums and teeth healthy between the teeth. Sometimes I dip it in mouthwash and then use it.
