yep, you talking about those plants gave me an idea about maybe getting on with the company that hauls from the pit to the plant. there are also a few small flat bed companies around the area that i'm going to look into after i get back, and one construction company. But i have always had an itch for the wide open highway. i got your PM Thanks!!! unfourtantly i can't reply yet. I'll keep an eye out for ya when i get back -
You know starting local might not be such a bad idea
Here are what the merrits to it would be, if you are driiving in a local vicinity it will mean that if the truck breaks, you can call the boss, he can send some one out in a reasonable ammount of time, and you can get home that night to your own bed, get a shower and be fairly comfortable.
Where as if you are driving a company truck otr and you break down in rural mississippi, you could be stuck there for who knows how long and it will be a miserable experince, when you are already taking a lot in learning to drive the truck.
I cant remember the name of the outfit, but there is a company down there that runs a lot of those pneumatic trailers, the have white trucks with blue stripes, they run kenworths, and they look to be fairly well maintained. I almost bought one of em from Kenworth in billings, it had like 600K on it and ran like a clock. The reason I didnt was because it had been jack knifed and the corner of the sleeper had been damaged and it was going to need to have a new sleeper put on, and paint.
Just a thought but if you got paired up with them, and got in a good truck and it was getting up where they were talking about trading it off, you might be able to buy it from them and know what you are getting because you would have been in it for like a year already. -
yes i can't think of their name at the moment but i'm pretty sure i know who you are talking about. I think i just need to go talk to some of those little companies around there. i'm sure some one would have a truck open.

Yes but he can use this while he has his training where his pay is not that great for a few months
