    A typical day for me;

Wake up at the customer (by taking my 10 hour break at the customer I am able to delay the start of my work day) and check in. Back into the dock and let them offload the truck. Normal start time is somewhere between 5 am and 8 am. I will have to finish my work day 14 hours after I start.

Alert dispatch via the OBC that I am empty now so they can find a new load asap (even though I am not empty YET).

Receive my next load assignment over the computer. Transfer the info into my personal notebook and type in the address in my GPS.

Go get the signed Bills of Lading when empty.

Start my paperwork and do a pre-trip inspection on the truck before leaving the customers yard to make my next pickup.

Make my next pickup and look for a place close by I can walk to for food or stop in route at a place with truck parking. I will eat while the truck is being loaded.

Plan my route for the day and type in the destination into my gps. This will tell me the time required to make the trip.

Sign the bills when loaded and close the trailer up. Place a seal on the rear doors and begin my trip.

I will stop every 3 to 4 hours for food or bathroom breaks. Fueling will be as needed.

It's really hard to describe which scales I cross because it depends which way I'm going and what roads I'm on. Also it depends if the scale is open or not.

Typical driving day: wake up. pre-trip. drive. stop for lunch. drive. stop for dinner. drive. find parking spot. post-trip. sleep.

Wake up, drive, see beautiful things and ugly things, fuel up, eat, answer phone, run low on driving hours, find a parking spot, go to bed and repeat all the next day.

    I start between 5-5:30am...
    Pre-trip inspection...
    Fuel if I need it...
Make 10-13 stops a day(80% Lowes and Home Depots) and am always done by 4pm...
    Post trip inspection...
Chill for rest of day then rinse and repeat...
I do that Mon thru Fri and home every weekend!!!!(sometimes during the week depending on where last stop is)

Your truck runs on gas? I thought they were all diesel, with an accelerator pedal?
