After months of waiting Workforce says Yes!

However that was nullified when the branch of workforce assisting people to become truckers was bought out by a new contractor. So this means I am starting from step 1. Literally months of waiting wasted.

Lets Review : Married with 3 children, bills piling, Workforce changes scheme during final Quarter.
Being told to constantly wait while third party bills are coming due.

Upon Calling every single trucking company asking if anyone was offering any Company Sponsored Training, Company Paid Training, Or any other endorsements for any type of schooling whatsoever. Found that the cheapest school (According to the Recruiter) was CR England, They say all they need from me is 40 dollars and a enough money for me to eat while staying the 3 weeks in Utah.

Upon Researching CR England found that many many disgruntled employees hate this company with a passion that fires all cylinders. With a 40% ratio of good reviews from credible sites stating the same problems with CRE are similar to most companies (With the exception of the forced leasing programs that seem to show their faces in every rant and rave)

The website says that I need to bring a 100 dollar processing fee, along with 37 dollars, whereas the recruiter says only 40 with no processing, just money to eat. She also claims that I can be in Utah By Monday the 30th as soon as my application drops, well it dropped earlier today.

    My final summation came to me when my neighbor and his 3 friends all working for CR England told me their experiences, From their point of view; Great pay if you never stop working; avoid any and all sales pitches like leasing 'anything';

Aside from those last 2 points, they each had different experiences, good and bad from their perspective angles.

Now from my friends point of view, that's how the recruiter lured him in he had a great paying job with little home time, and kissed a lot of butt. But he told me for a starter trucker looking for a CDL, get in, work a year, and then get out when you have you 1 year experience.

And now I am asking the community in general, please no ranting or raving because I get the gist of all the cons. But, I am seeking 2 sided views on this because If I do not go with CRE I could very well end up homeless. Serious honest posts please, and thank you.

Have I made a Good Decision?

I'll be going to Utah on the 14th of OCT.

Well, if it's your last hope, all you can do is make the best of it, at least until you get some breathing room between you and the creditors.
Listen to your neighbors, keep your eyes, ears, and mind open, the left door closed, and NEVER DO THE LEASE!

Check out Prime, during the PSD phase of training, that where you get your CDL, you can be advanced 200.00 per week. After you get your CDL and enter the TNT phase you will get paid 600 a week before taxes. After you make your 30k of miles you will be upgraded to a truck and make .42CPM, driving a light weight.

Good decisions are subjective. Do you mind working hard and being away from home for long periods of time? Are you self-motivated, and have you even owned your own business (or at least thought about it)?? Do you mind sharing space with another individual who could turn out to be your best friend, or your worst enemy??? Are you financially secure enough to accept a job that doesn't start to "pay off" until many months later????

I only ask because at CRE you'll be expected to lease your own truck (from the company), drive with either a mentor or a student (depending on what stage you've reached) and work very hard for many weeks at a time without going home. You also won't see much in the way of payouts until you've hit that six month mark. Good decisions are in the eyes of the beholder. What could be a piece of crap experience for you could also be another man's new lease on life. Decide for yourself, because opinions are like a-holes, and you're bound to meet a few of them in this business...

Prime is a lot closer in Springfield than CRE. Think about it. I'm no Prime fanboy but if the poop hits the fan you're only a few hours from Shawnee, OK. You could probably borrow enough money for gas from friends for your wife to come get you. If you're in UT and you don't have bus fare, then what?

Prime would be better, but do what you have to do right now to keep from becoming homeless.
When you can, get all the endorsements & TWIC so you can move into the better paying jobs such as $50K - $65K with flatbed & tanker.

Since you have a date set to go to slc, then go, but in the meantime dont stop looking for other opportunities like prime as others have said...but if not just suck it up to keep a roof over the head of your family and food on the table for them...thats most important...good luck.

I would find a new neighborhood. If they are telling you to head to CRE. You may be that one in a hundred who doesn't get corn holed by them. Good luck. I would not be reading the threads about them on here. No use going there all depressed.
