I think it has to be a special ordered new trailer too...like place your order and wait 6 months for it to show up rather than buy something already sitting on a dealer lot. I've heard that some of them like Kaufman and Take 3 will "re-rate" one after the fact but most of them wont. The idea of slapping an Ebay VIN sticker doesn't sound like a real wise idea to me. I think DOT is getting wise to those non-CDL guys going over gross on their de-rated trailers...like if they see a guy roll across the scales with a newer dually and more than 12,000 on the trailer tandems they'll know that guy is overweight

Honestly, I’ve never seen a new wedge trailer on a dealers lot…lol. I don’t even think Kaufman has dealers it’s all direct orders so far as I know. However I think they will still derate a existing trailer they made so long as it’s not super old. Might be a fee but I think they will do it.
as far as actual weight on the axles.. if you are over weight you are overweight doesn’t matter what he tag says.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
in the last couple of years there have been several tragic crashes caused by hotshot drivers .Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
a hand full of hotshot wrecks is nothing compared to the amount of people Swift kills every year..
A sub weight 26k to 40k hotshot truck simply can not do the carnage a 80k lbs truck will do.
