    Hello, My name is Ron,
I am a 46 year old Veteran of the US Army. I've been having employment difficulties for 2.5 years, and, this has made me undesirable to employers in my previous career field, as an Industrial Master Mechanic. I am now facing eviction and need to know what my choices are, now that I have my CDL? What is the best place for someone to start a long term job, starting at entry level? I have also thought about a service truck/wrecker, as I have worked for a towing operator previously, I have been trained in tire repair with some brake and alignment also. I am very mechanically inclinded and can learn new concepts relatively easily.

    Any comments?

I am a innovative problem solver and help others in any way that I can. Right now I have five Generationally Advanced Adults (I don't like the term Elderly) that I am working with to get their skills up in general computer use; email, word processing, internet surfing and as much as possible PC Security. I enjoyt these interactions, but, I don't know how to turn this into a income that I can support myself with.

This same fact is true of my Landscape Photography hobby, where I have invested a few thousand in my equipment. I thought that I could expand on this one when I get out in the Cab of a Rig, on the open road. I had seen a story, several years ago, on the Sunday Morning Show (CBS) about a man who decided to change careers, and, while driving a Rig out around the country, produced a book of photos of his journeys.

I would like to get to know some of the ins and outs, if someone would be so kind. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would say towing is an excellent area to get into . Business is booming picking up repos and hauling them back and forth to auctions . I know a hotshotter that had work slow down for his 3 trucks so he got into hauling cars and is keeping 3 trucks busy . The rates have picked up too . My son was driving a 2 car rollback for a towing company but they are going to a 4 car hauler because they are getting behind .

My towing interest is in a "Super Wrecker" Operator position (but, they're most likely O/O), for the heavy salvage/rescue/accident clearing/commercial Breakdown towing.

After watching the videos on youtube demonstrating the questionable intelligence of those that call themselves "Repo Man", I don't think that I would want to be associated with these "people". I wonder what brand of duct tape they use for that video camera toolbox mounting system?
