It never makes me do anything but I always fake it and kick my leg out because I don't want to appear abnormal. One time I decided to be honest and let my leg hang naturally and the doc freaked out like I had some kind of disorder.
Destoried left knee but told to return to driving.

It doesn't sound like you should be going in to work. You won't be able to safetly operate your vehicle and tell your dispatcher that. If they are adament that you come in, then go in early and have a chat with your dispatcher so he can see that you don't have full mobility left, if he sees you he might realize that you aren't just trying to skip work but aren't quite ready to return.
At the very least drive an automatic becuase you aren't going to last to long using the clutch I am betting.pattyj Thanks this. -
If you can't drive then stay off the road.

Whelp I fought a good fight and ultimately my company has won this round. I have to be at their Ohio Terminal Monday morning. From there I will take my DOT Physical. As far as pass or fail who knows. If I pass I will be driving eight hour shifts. I fail its right back home to doing light duty at a none profit organization an I shall be lawyering up and getting a second opinion. Only time will tell. I will play the workers comp game and play it well. Will update as things unfold.

you need to consult a disability lawyer
as a backup plan -
Well when your being forced into it without a choice. Its either attempt to climb back into a truck or get fired and lose my workers comp claim. Quite frankly before my injury I was good driver trained old school unlike most out of the CDL Mill. Just had one bad day.

man you injured yourself on the job...you should've lawyered up after you got hurt because you can bet your company has a liability lawyer on the case...imo you need to do what t/a pete says and find a disability lawyer now!!! let them hash it out while you heal...then find another job after they settle with you...

My Update to my DOT Physical
Went to Columbus OH on Sunday and had my physical on Monday. The terminal manager couldn't understand why I was there to take a physical since I could barely walk. He called the main terminal and he was told that I was to take my physical and he was given the truck number I was assigned even before I took my physical. Talk about jumping the gun. I passed everything until if came to the squat and the reflex. Once the doc read the if you answered yes to anything he pretty much stopped giving me the physical for liability issues. He did ask me if I could perform a squat I told him I could try but its going to hurt. He just told me don't try it if its going to hurt. He told me I need to get a Skills Performance Eval.
Went back to the terminal and gave the results to the terminal manger. He told me that he figured that's what was going to happen. He called the headquarters and informed them the goings on and they seemed pissed. I fought with them all day Friday about that fact I wasn't going to pass the phys. Of course I am just a Truck Driver that doesn't know his own body. When will the desk jockeys listen to the drivers.
I was sent back home to continue my light duty. I called workers comp the next day on Tuesday and told them the outcome of my physical and they were very upset because I am not back to work. So since they are upset with me, so I hired myself a lawyer for my protection. They can deal with my lawyer instead of bullying me around. To a point I am glad I didn't pass my physical because the wife had to take me to the ER this evening due continuing pain. Come to find out my knee is severely sprained and low behold my kneecap is still broke in half. So this has set me back once again to getting back to driven. Cause after 6 months after surgery I am back on crutches and my leg is back in a brace.
So lets add it all up my company, doctor and workers comp tried to put me back to full duty driving with my kneecap still broke and severely sprained. I am thinking this is a nice malpractice lawsuit. Have to see what my lawyer says tomorrow.
