I bought a 2007 century about two months ago with a 515HP det which runs good and hasn't used any oil ever. It has a strange problem which I took it to WILLIAMS DET and got two different answers from 1st shift and 2nd shift. 1st time they tell me it's a TURBO, 2nd time they tell me it's a injecter. I rule out both of them. I don't buy it!!

What it does is (what I call FARTING) When pushing the pedal it will start to cut out , jerk and degrade it's self. Yesterday I bought two cans of brake cleaner and sprayed every turbo line, fuel line, acts as if it's sucking air somewhere.. FOUND NOTHING!!

Has anyone ran into this problem that could shine some light on this?

The fuel mileage sucks as well.

    Thanks Bill

Bill, what exactly does that mean?

Do you have EXACT numbers by the month or quarter?

This isn't directed to you personally but I love hearing the guys that say "I used a half tank between this town and that town"! First off stupid truck driver there are TWO tanks so it would be ONE tank useing your theory and secondly your drivel means nothing because no one knows if they are 50 gal OR 150 gal tanks.

Then there's the truck drivers that get "between 6 mpg and 8 mpg! Wouldn't that be 7 mpg then stupid truck driver. I realize figuring fuel economy requires a degree in economics which most truck drivers don't have (they are all retired lawyers or special ops) and firguring fuel economy of a month/quarter/year requires a person to be a CPA but if you really don't have HARD numbers shut your pie hole.

Who pissed in your corn flakes? He only said that the mileage was bad. Sure, he didn't say what his mpg's were but your tirade is uncalled for.

    Now to the OP.

Does your Detroit have a variable turbo? My Cummins would do something like you describe when pulling a long hill and having to downshift. Cummins told me that the variable turbo was basically stalling for an instant. From what I could find through my own research it is a common issue with the variable vane turbos. They don't react as fast as the demand on them. Didn't do it all the time, just on log hard pulls when shifting.

Read past the 3 letter words and see that I said the rant was NOT directed at the OP.

    Insult removed

Wow, you are really on a "let's insult everyone this year" roll aren't you?

Well, if you would care to apologize/edit your post I might do the same.

Engage brain first before replying is generally the rule.

I have read the OP, and you initial post. Yours was uncalled for. It almost seemed that you were replying to another thread entirely.

OK, it appears we are being a bit overly sensitive this year (imho) so I'll try to play nicer is the sand box girls.

MGFG, what did you expect. The Op is asking a serious question. Albeit, he lacks a few details that could be important.

That however did not warrant you response. Its not about playing nice in the sand box. If you don't have a relevant response don't say anything.

Yes, you should do what you preach. You went off on a tangent of insults that not only included the OP but many other drivers. All for someone asking a question. At least I had something constructing to say regarding the OP's issue, pulling from personal experience.
