Needless to say they are on my do not use list now, after I ended up with over 5 hours at the delivery.

My fault I am not getting paid for my time, but come on, what kind of lowlife puts this on at rate con?

If the rate is good enough and I want the load then I might agree to those terms. It can not be stressed enough that you need to read the rate con before you accept it. Don't blame the broker or the shipper after the fact when they told you in advance what kind of service they were willing to contract for.

It's a good lesson for me. I would never pull a load without detention or layover, unless we had an agreement to bring the load back to the shipper when the reciever hit 2 hours. Good way to get stuck for a week waiting without recourse.
