So is this incorrect with the 7650 being a tad smaller than a 7014?
The guy that's going to build mine said the 5915 and 7650 flow the exact same when they leave his bench but do in fact use a different tip.
Gotta decide when we talk monday. Prob stick with the crowd and go with 5915s.

So guys, say all else is equal, 8 holes vs 9 holes what would you go for and why? My stock # listed as 7466 (8 hole) and 7650 (9 holes). Thanks

The 4795s listed in that chart are the 12.7 marine injectors. I know a few guys using those in race trucks and they can lift the front tire off the ground so they'll make all the power you'll ever need on the highway. I've switched between the 14L marine injectors and the 7014s and there was no noticeable difference in fuel mileage and I track every tank...although it does throw your instant read off quite a bit. My advice is get the biggest ones you can find but stay away from the marine injectors only because they can be tough to track down if you break down away from home...unless you carry a spare, in which case, go nuts

Marine injectors without a marine cam is pointless. But combine the two and whoa, what a difference.

That's not true. The bigger the injectors, the more flow you have regardless of the cam. Switching from the 7014s to the 7473s gave me an 80hp increase without doing anything else

That being said, yes, the 2 together is the way to go

Ok, pointless may have been the wrong word. But if i got the engine open and ask the work done to change injectors, I'm taking the 7 cam bearing cap bolts out and slipping in a new cam. Seriously you've done 95% of the work. Do them both while you are at it. To me its like changing a head gasket on a million Mile engine but not doing the pistons and liners while the head is off.

That's the way I'd do it too but if he doesn't have the budget for a new cam or he needs new injectors and just wants a little more power, nothing extreme, bigger injectors by themselve will do it.

If a cam isn't in the budget a guy needs to concentrate on making his operation more profitable, not spend money on performance items. I guess for a guy that just bought the truck and had 2 or more injectors needing replaced sure, but for a guy that has been running for 6 months or more, makes no sense.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

Guys, but what about this 8 hole vs 9 hole injectors. Anyone has an idea, do you have a better flow with 9, more even spray perhaps?

Honestly, that's getting into the realm of IF there is a real difference, it's so minute that only professional race teams would notice the difference.
