Going to change oil pan gasket because of oil leakage. When I research it , some say that you should change all bolts ,isolators and washers . People also say , most times that it is a cracked pan and not the gasket . I will check it out with a magnifying glass for cracks before replacing . Regarding new bolts , isolators and washers - Necessary ? Seems like a bolt is a bolt as long as not stripped or hex is buggered .

Just isolators and really only if they’re bad. Otherwise be sure to use silicone at corners where block castings meet

Just heard but seemed a little hard to believe - if you use new bolts and isolators , it would be harder to over tighten bolts and inadvertently crack plastic pan .

Isolators prevent cracking. If bad and tightened, I guess it’s possible. I doubt pan is cracked they’re pretty tough. I sealed mine all the way across back to eliminate possible leak. It was unnecessary though. Mines leaking bad at rear cover. That job includes removing pan, motor mounts and trans.

Replaced mine a few weeks ago. New isolators, all of them, plenty of silicone...I would think only with an impact and bad judgement would you over tighten.
RubyEagle Thanks this. -
Maybe it is the isolators that should be new . I will definitely purchase them before I drop the pan . Thank you to all .
