I have ask been asking about this for sometimes and now my ddec 5 is down I can no longer pull loads with it and not one shop can give me a answer on the dyno today the the truck starts making 32lbs of boost than turbo will cheerp and boost drops down to 20lbs than while doing that it rolls black smoke than Egr temp was over 600 degrees the fan comes on and stays on until you take your foot out of it we have changed the inter cooler with new boots new clamps Egr cooler Egr valve v pod turbo run a over head and reflased the ECM I have spent over $6,000 on it now with no fix
Can someone help me out I can not be the only person that has had this problem

Carefully examine your wire harnesses.... your looking for a bad wire, that would be my guess

I know of an excellent Detroit shop, Atlantic States Detroit Diesel. Talk to Gary or Pete in service. I would not even consider letting a Freightliner mechanic touch it.

I tried all that and didn't work when I called to get my money back I was told my 12.7 is not the same system as the 14L that's why I didn't see a difference.

I'm looking at buying a different truck or drop a pre EGR 12.7 in mine now...I've never seen a truck drink fuel like this truck does
