Why not a hopped up 6-92 or 8-92 Detroit . Half the power and torque but weighs 700 pounds less. All mechanical and nothing sounds Cooler.

    Hello everybody!

I'm new on here, just joined 5 minutes, my friend said this is the place to go for information. I have a 2011 Volvo 780 with the ISX Cummins 15. Two weeks ago I started hearing a tapping noise, I took it to my mechanic and he pulled the top of the engine off. He called me and said my camshaft and rocker arms are beating again each other. I already had ran my racks on it. He said I had to replace my camshaft, intake rockers, exhaust rockers, Jake box rockers, 2 rocker shafts. Plus labor, I'm looking at $13,000. I found a Detroit 14 liter with low mileage for $5,500. My friend told me to take out the Cummins put in this Detroit and change the turbo to the Borg Warner and by the aftermarket exhaust manifold. He also told me to send the ecm and get it tuned and I'll be satisfied. Any suggestions from you guys?
