Mine is a 92 series. Tho i can't guaranty it was original equipment like i said in my edit above.
The truck was built the year i was born so obviously i wasnt the first owner. But i wasnt the only one running a 12v92. Quite a few of those guys i ran with in the 90s had them. At least for a few years till fuel got to be cost prohibitive.

I didn't notice any remarks about an essential Detroit experience, having the throttle spring break and the truck stuck on wide open throttle. I thought it was pretty common, it happened to me twice driving my father's Pete with an 8v92.
The first time I used a bungee as a makeshift spring, the second time I had a spare in the truck. I was in the middle of nowhere and just let it run in the big hole for about 20 miles, then shut it down and coasted into a rest area.
My father is gone but I have that truck in the barn....one of these days it will roar again.Tombstone69, Oxbow, swaan and 2 others Thank this. -
Ok I need help, looking for a transmission that will work with 1-71 detroit diesel, but work well on a motorcycle.
