my tach and speedo quit working. i think the circuit breaker is bad. been driving it blind, just with the boost gauge, still got 5.25 mpg out of it. was driving it a little harder. 20K on the motor now. maybe it's starting to loosen up.

Ristow, that speedo & tach problem is minor issues compared to some that have "new" trucks..... In fact I'm thinking serious about throwing my 92 powered Transtar back on the road after a few updates and a fresh motor. Looking at a 63" sleeper on another transtar that should be a fairly easy switch over, just thinking.

I have a sweet silver 92 430hp. Clean as a pin maybe 5K on an overhaul. Still in the truck can hear it run and drive it before I pull it. I would let it go real reasonable. I hate to see it go to waste

Do any of you remember the OO-92 that came out in the late 70's? Claimed to have 27 or so upgrades to stop oil leaks, and the OO stood for owner-operator? These engines were painted black. Don't know about the upgraded oil leaks, but I figured the black paint was to hide the oil running down the block.

I also had a 6V92TTA @ 335 HP for a while I really liked in a single axle IH 4070B. It had plenty of power and got great mileage, sometimes 7+, but it cracked a liner, dumpted water in the oil, spun a bearing, and cracked the block at the mains. Common problem for the early 6V92's. That 6V would run circles atound the 8V71T, 318, I had before it, and got much better mileage doing it.

we just sold our 2012 Cascadia with auto trans. it had its share of issues. we had our share of acert turbo and rocker stud issues too but overall the acerts were ok, they were 2008' s i believe.

i sure do see why guys go with gliders . not impressed with the current stare of emissions tech. i wouldnt be looking to go with a detroit 2 stroke by any means. i like the 60 series a lot. one of these days ill find a 362 pete with a 12.7 detroit 60 series with a 110 cab and a 200 inch wheel base. that'd be a good cruiser.

Just to stick in my own .02$.... Back in the 70's ran a Chevy 10 wheeler with a 6v71; sucker would pull HARD if you kept the rpms up. It ran away one day on me, cracked a fuel line in the head, fortunately the stop valve actually worked and it shut down.....took a minute to do it and a year off my life!: S lid piece
